First post-op visit
1 week post-op visit today. Down SEVENTEEN POINT FOUR POUNDS. Graduated to pureed foods. Came home and made myself a scrambled egg! Yay! In addition to my 3 meals, I have 2 protein shakes and 1/2 cup of protein-fortified pudding or Jell-O every day to make 85-90 gm of protein. That will decline some as I lose weight. I am a happy boy. I'm going to review my post-weight-loss-surgery cookbook, pick two or three recipes and head to the grocery store.
Randy,
The food that I loved during the pureed and I still do it today was salmon. I used to take it and marinate it for a day and then grill it on the grill, I have a George Forman. I would then mix up (depending on the amount of fish I was making, I cooked for a few days) equal parts low fat mayo, no fat sour cream, 1 packet of splenda (sweet n low), soy sauce and wasabi paste (or regular horseradius). I put the cream stuff along with the fish or chicken in the food processor and twirl. It was outstanding. As I said I still make the mix. If you use chicken use chicken thighs (bonesless, skinless) as they have the most moisture.
Good luck and congratulations on the great weight loss.
3 oz of salmon is 21 protein points.

Congrats on the 17 lb. loss! You must be thrilled. The next few weeks will be much easier. The food that I still tolerate well is tilapia. Don't broil it, make it in the frying pan with pam - it's quite good. I asked the fishmonger for small pieces and make them one at a time! Canned tuna, salmon and chicken are also wonderful with light mayo! Sometimes I boil an egg and add half of it to the tuna or salmon...also yummy!
