Today, I got to reintroduce dairy to my diet. This makes me happy. Not only is milk more filling than Crystal Light, I got to make sugar-free pudding! This makes my tongue very happy - pudding is much tastier than Jell-O. On a concerning note, I find I can easily drink 8 ounces of liquid in 10-15 minutes if I'm not paying attention, even though I'm only SUPPOSED to drink 4 ounces an hour - and I easily ate a half-cup serving of pudding without discomfort. Is it slipping through my pouch easily because it's so soft, or did he make my pouch too big? Clearly, I still need to impose a certain amount of self-discipline, though it's SO difficult.

Randy~ Of course, I am only speaking for myself, but I still wouldn't be able to drink 8 ounces of anything in 10-15 minutes, I am 6 months out. I feel physically sick if I drink too much, I can't even take 1 big GULP without feeling ill..... but my pouch is very sensitive to liquids, it always has been. I have to drink slowly. I have been drinking about 4 ounces of sugar free Hershey syrup with milk for the past week, for calcium and protein, and that takes me about 25 minutes to finish.... I load it up with ice too, to dilute it.... but I love the chocolate flavor! I am glad you are enjoying your pudding. I felt that way the first time I had chicken broth! I remember the salty taste on my tongue-it was pure heaven! It was very nice to meet you Friday night at Community too, I think you may have set a new record, being at group 2 days after surgery! You go!!!! Michelle Brennan

Hey Randy, First off congrats on making it to the Post-op side of the street... I'd slow it down a bit but you won't stretch your pouch because liquids will flow through you or you'd end up vomiting... think about it; your pouch is open on both ends, its not a balloon thus gas or liquid will pass (to either end) Keep in mind when you get to the point of eating real food "solids" then the pouch can stretch over time. I can't agree with you more, the self disapline part of this whole ordeal is the most difficult part of WLS. Your mind wants to eat more but the new plumbing will remind you on those nasty occasions NO NO NO!!! Best of luck, Happy Weight Loss & follow your Dr. post-op instructions. Art

hi randy glad to hear things are going well for you, but s l o w down is my advice, for what its worth. just because you can down the water like that, does not mean its a good thing to do. just because the pudding slides down, doesnt mean you shouldnt slow down and savor it a bit. dont rush yourself, you just took a gian step, enjoy whats happening and enjoy your weight loss. hugs and continued success, jacki
