Food ideas
I am 10 weeks post op and feel like all i eat is tuna, cheese and chicken. Anybody have any other food ideas with high protein content. Especially easy on the go meals because i cant stand just about any protein drinks i have tried. Also my doc says only sit 2 ounces of food in front of you at a time so you wont over eat. Suppose to eat only 2 ounces every 2 hours.
Hi,
I was in your neck of the woods today over at Portobella's Farmer's Market. At 10 weeks I was basically introducing all foods back into my diet. I relyed on the protein drinks but I made them milkshakey and used different concoctions of DiVinici's syrups. I also grilled salmon and chicken thighs. I purchased a cookbook that was specially written for all phases of gastric bypass surgeries.
Also, there is a beef stick made by Scifit. It is 1 oz. 80 calories, no fat, 15 grams of protein and it is tasty.
There are also all kinds of protein bars that are low on carbs. Atkins makes some really good ones.
Good luck and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Judy:
I've kept things pretty simple for myself as far as protein shakes. I buy Vitamin Worlds brand of powder mix (if you get their swip card, the first week of the month all their brands are buy one get one free). In the blender I add a scoop of powder (18 grams)
8 oz. skim milk and 1/2 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries, and 2 equal or splenda. This comes to about 28 grams of protein total. It tastes very simular to a strawberry milkshake and I rarely taste the protein powder.
Good Luck!
