tummy tuck
Hi Christine:
Congratulations on your decision to have a tummy tuck. I am sorry I can't be of any help to you, I am still in the losing weight part of my journey. I had a pannilectomy (fat persons tummy tuck) 4 years ago. I used a doctor at Pennsylvania hospital, Dr. Adrian Lo. He is terrific. He does all kinds of plastic surgeries.
Good luck. Please keep me posted.
Jeanne
Hi, Christina... We are so lucky here in NJ, there are so many great plastic surgeons to choose from. You may want to begin your search on the OH plastic surgeon directory board (there are reviews and bios of the docs on there) and then see if any of them are working with your insurance company. Unfortunately, many do not participate in insurance, but the PS I used was nice enough to not balance bill me for what my insurance company did not pay for my hernia repair; I paid my TT and other procedures out of pocket. I saw 5 surgeons before deciding on Dr. David Abramson in Englewood...I would suggest having consults with at least a few, you are bound to click with one of them. Make sure they have experience with wls people, our needs are different, our skin reacts differently after surgery, revisions are very common (make sure they have a good policy re: this: no surgical fee for revisions w/in the first year, for example), sometimes we have blood flow/healing issues, lots of variables to think about. I can send you a link and PW to my plastics page if you want. Julie
Hi Christina - I second Sharon's response. Even though it was a long ride for me -- after meeting with four other PS, I decided on Dr Joe Capella - he did lower body lift, arm brachiaplasty, breast lift and augmentation and medial thighplasty for me. He's the bomb!
Good luck. If you decide to consult with him, feel free to mention my name!
