I'm so siiiickkkkkk

Hey everyone, Im 13 days post op. I was feeling so great, and I woke up this morning with a terrible cold. 101 fever. Cough, stuffy nose. When I cough my incisions hurt soooo bad. I've been hugging the pillow like I'm supposed to. Anyone got any advice on what to take? By time I got in from work, my Regular Dr. and my Surgeon were both gone for the day.

Michele, I'm sorry you're sick and didn't get any responses. We have the same surgeon, although I am over 3 years out. I didn't get sick immediately after surgery, but I can feel your pain.........I tolerated most cold remedies - the best (and for a good night's sleep) was the benedryl. Then I just took Tylenol as needed. By the way, you can call Dr. Mehta anytime (trust me, I know this from experience). They are a great bunch there! Thanks Kathy for your response! So it turns out, its Bronchitis. And let me tell ya, coughing like this is the worst! I got antibiotics that are really tiny and that can be broken in half. And liquid decongestant/cought suppresant medication.

Are you tolerating the cough suppressant ok? Drink as much water as you can. Try a humidifier if your house is dry - you're still out of work, right? Sleep. Alot. I haven't had bronchitis since I quit smoking over 5 years ago (coincidence? maybe?) but I oh so remember how badly it felt. Feel better soon. Kathy
