I made a mistake I think
No problem- Just return to your normal post op diet.
Every surgeon was different- mine was progressive and fast. I was having Mashed potatoes----Mushed to the max- 4 days after surgery.
Check with the surgeon but you should be fine.
DID you have any reaction- PB, Sliming etc?
The thing you will learn with the Band--there are NO foods totally off limits. its all trial and error- I can eat this and you may not be able too. The oddest thing will be howerver that on Wednesday you can eat Fish, and on Friday the same meal will make you sick....go figure.
PB is a Hint from your Body you are about to have a probem- It stands for Productive Burping---its a sign that you ate food that did not agree with you, you are to big a piece of food, at too much food or ate food too fast.
A PB will be a runny noise, a burp or as in my case----Hickups.....
The minute you get one of these symptoms----stop eating- if you have food in your mouth spit it out---- that one more bite can this into a Sliming attach.
If you have eaten too much, too fast etc you will SLIME. Sliming is basically foamy saliva that builds up in your mouth. Now this is not pretty- But I will tell you about my experiences.
You have had that one biteful too much---I have the hickups...within moments---the saliva starts building up - and I have to spit it out---All the time this is going on---you have intense pain where your stoma is---(basically your food is stuck).
You want to thorw up----you fell like you can throw up- but nothing happens.
For me I am on my Knee's - leaning over the sink spitting-- and just praying this passes quickly. The only Position I can ride this out is on my knee's.
If you really do a bad thing and eat WAY TOO MUCH you may be sore--- (I was the first time this happened), and that is it in a nutshelll.
But since you probably have no restricitons yet, since you have not had a fill, this will be in your future once you get a fill.
As bad as all this sounds----it keeps you honest.
Chris
We don't usually allow dairy right after surgery because it's a little harder for the system to digest. Is it going to hurt you? Not at all. Should you do it again. Certainly not. Should you call your surgeon? Yes. Should you be worried, scared, or mad at yourself? Nope.
Relax, baby, it's no big deal.
