Those are all good questions and normal feelings... Any ice pops that are sugar free is the way to go...I have never tried heating up the shakes, but I am sure it would be ok. Just keep on sipping those liquids, you will see soon enough, that you will get full on juts a cup of soup...Your hunger pains will fade away, the big thing is trying to distinguish the differance between huger pain and head hunger...In the beginning, I had the "empty plate syndrome"...I wanted to stop eating when the plate was empty, but like I said eat slow and you will see how full you will feel. I was told "Not to stop eating when I am full, BUT stop eating when I am not hungry anymore" If that makes any sense. Good luck Dave T

Elaine: Congratulations and best of luck to you. I had open RNY in June. I found the Lifesaver sugar free and the Edy's sugar frees are the best ice pops. Watch on heating your protein. I believe that heat does something to the protein. I do believe warm is OK, hot is not. I had the worse head hunger during my first two weeks, and the only commercials on TV were for Pizza Hut and Dominos. I wanted them so bad that I had my sister come to my house and take all my money and credit cards. So what you are feeling is very very normal. You might also start feeling regret and doubt. Also normal. If you still menustrate you might notice a difference in that also. All normal. I accidently, by not reading the box had a jello pudding pop, not the sugar free kind, a regular with about 18 g. of sugar. I did that about the third week out. Nothing happened. Remember everybody is different and what you eat today and is fine might not be tomorrow. Follow your surgeon/nutrionist advice and you will not go wrong. Jeanne
