Maybe it is the gas from the surgery moving around.Anyway the site will turn black and blue just from when they were working in there. The Ocean County support group meets twice a month, in Toms River the first Friday of each month, which is March 2nd(the next one)at Community Hospital 7-9 P.M. and the 3rd monday of the month at Paul Kimball in Lakewood. You should try to make it, there are quite a few lap band people that attend and also RNY and we have a good meeting every time, lots of info and a few laughs, too!!

This is a question that should be addressed to your doctor's office. It's likely normal, but your doctor *would and should* be the source for information about anything related to the surgery which he performed. They are familiar with the types and frequency of complications in their patients and you should feel comfortable enough with them to be able to pick up the phone and get some questions answered. I'm sorry if this sounds like a lecture but really - it could be anything from simple muscle stiffness to blood clots and I don't know the questions to ask to determine what it is.

Hey Elaine, don't know about the leg cramping, but attending support group meetings is very helpful in sharing experiences, getting recipes, etc. I believe I have given you this info before, but the Ocean County WLS group meets twice per month -- first Friday of each month in TOms River at Community Medical Center, Aud A at 7pm -- next meeting is Friday, March 2nd. We also meet the third Monday of each month in Lakewood at Kimball's Center for Healthy Living, 198 Prospect St , 7pm -- next meeting is Monday, March 19th. Hope to see you at one of the March meetings. Hugs, Nannette

Elaine: I am sorry that you are not feeling better. If you suspect, for whatever reason, bloodclots, contact your doctor. Did you have a Vena Cava filter installed prior to your surgery? Have you suffered from any leg problems in the past, cellulitis, lymphodemia, deep vein thrombosis? As someone else responded your doctor should be the one who answers these questions. As far as pain, each of us is different. I had open RYN and was walking 2 hours after I awoke, because of pain in my legs. After that I had no problems at all. I also can't help you with support meetings as I am in Phillie, but I know there are a lot of great people in your area who will probably respond to help you there. Feel better. Jeanne
