WILL ACID REFLUX GO AWAY AFTER

I have acid reflux bad and does anyone know if it goes away after lap banding?

Hey Elaine, I had the Lap Band done in September 06' and prior to I was on NEXIUM...After the surgery I did not need to take it....I do not know if the surgery cured it or the Nexium, but I like to think it was the band...Good Luck...

i had RNY and acid went away for awhile then it came back about six weeks ago so im back on prilosec oh well but heck im also down almost 100 pounts, wahoooooooooo that good luck, hope u feel better jacki

depends what is causing the reflux, is it a hiatal hernia, will your surgeon be repairing that, will he be repairing the sphincter at the top of your stomach, if not ,the band may make it worst. to stop my reflux I had a procedure known as the Fundy wrap, incompatible with the band or rny. only a DS form of wls can be done.
