I need to know how you tell hunger from head hunger. I am having a difficult time distinguishing the two. Any and all advice will be so much appreciated. Thanks....Christine

Physical hunger usually presents itself with stomach growling, cramps, headache, and/or fatigue. You should not have any of these symptoms if you are taking in a small amount 6 times a day. At your present phase you probably can handle up 2 to 3 oz. at a meal. Head Hunger is usually a craving or a memory of eating whenever you want. It is very important not to graze. If you do you will stretch out the pouch and not lose weight. Although it may not happen immediately, you will see the effects after a period of time. Usually real hunger is when you need anything, not something specific to eat. Be sure when you do eat that it is something protein dense. Usually eating proteins reduce your cravings and appetite.

Also...head hunger will go away if you try 'ignoring' it where as physical hunger doesn't, sometimes we will confuse thirst with hunger, perhaps sipping some beverage will help.

He Christine how have you been? You know what I do/did- I charted my Hunger wth a number 1-5, sort of like bio-rythms. For me, the worst hunger is after Dinner- and it is all Head Hunger. If I find If I can ride it out for 30-60 minutes- (say from 7pm to 8pm) it goes from a High of a 1(extreme hunger) to almost fogetting I was hungry. After Dinner I sip water constantly and that seems to help me a lot. Chris

I haven't had problems with head hunger and haven't felt real hunger either so I don't know how I can help you. All I can say is that you shouldn't be hungry if you are eating all your protein so what you are feeling is probably head hunger, be careful not to give into it.
