Insurance letters

Hi Did anyone need to submit a letter to their insurance company stating why you or your physician felt the need for WLS? I have a friend who is in the begining stages and needs such a letter. If you have one or suggestions please feel free to email me. Thanks

I thought her surgeon would put the packet together as mine is...it's funny, I'm treating with an orthopedic surgeon for back injuries incurred on the job and off the record (upon reviewing my MRI showing arthritis in the spine) I asked if he would help me should I need it, he said yes....go figure.

My surgeon provided me w/ a few "standard" letters that my pcp could use to write - there were different ones for different insurance companies.

our surgeon's office did everything -- contacted our PCP -- got our paperwork ready -- contacted the insurance companies -- set up our pre-op testing -- everything!! all we did was sit back and wait for the approval and then sit back and wait for surgery sorry i couldn't help ya with a letter Roberta
