good luck to you both
bathrobe and slippers -- i brought chapstick too but didn't have to use it -- they felt as tho i needed breathing treatments cuz i had bronchitis years ago when i smoked and the treatments made my mouth and throat really moist it was nice oh, and bring a sense of humor -- you might really need it

If you have to use Phospho Soda the night before, put balmex on before you take it. Good advice from a nurse in my surgeons office.
Also, buy underwear a little too big so you can put it on comfortably after surgery and tuck the drain in there.
Finally, I brought pretty pjs, robe and slippers, so I felt comfortable walking around the floor after surgery.
Christine: I brought my own slippers but they will give you socks to wear. When you are in bed you will have the compression stockings on you. They feel great! I don't think you'll need a robe or pj's. The room will be warm and you'll be fine with the hospital gown. Chap stick and hand cream is a must, a brush or comb, something to put up your hair if you do it and maybe a book to read but I'm sure you won't do it...you'll sleep when you can or watch tv or talk to hubby. good luck and I hope you are doing ok with the clear liquids.
