Does anyone know of a good gym in Monmouth or northern Ocean (anywhere from Keyport [exit 117] to Toms River [exit 81], anywhere between the Parkway and the ocean)? In particular, can anyone suggest a personal trainer associated with a gym in that area who is used to working with post-WLS people?

Dr. G: how funny that i see you all week but am answering you on this site! my gym, KS fitness on hooper ave in TR has a WLS program disigned for 3 weeks P/O. the fee for this program is slightly higher than the normal membership fee but seems worth it. robin

That's because I didn't think to ask you! So, is this program designed specifically to help with sagging skin and so on? If you don't mind sharing on the forum, how much does it cost? (If you'd rather be private, just tell me next week.)

Sure! I went to my Gym, KS fitness on Hooper Ave about 9 days P/O. They weighed and measured me as anyone interested in their program would. There is a criteria they feel strongly about for their Bariatric patients. Depending on your level of fitness, You must be able to walk on the treadmill for a certain amount of time. Karen, the trainer for this program, doesnt care if if you start at 2.0 but she wants to be sure you're really ready physically. She asks loads of questions to determine what your needs will be. I'm not sure what a membership starts out there because I'm part of a family plan with my daughter and son-in-law, but I do know that the Bariatric program runs about $250-$500 extra but they are very flexible w/ paying that portion. She'll break it up any way you need to. Hope that info helps. robin A

I know that CentraState Patients get sent to WOW on Route 9 in Freehold for post-op workout program, but I did not investigate their program. It may be worth calling them (or another WOW) to see if they have a specific program. Michele
