I had my 1st fill today.....
After 2 weeks out, I was finding myself this weekend feeing hungry again and not satisfied with what I was eating. I already had an appointment with (GOD) DR.JB scheduled so I didn't feel the need to call. I went in today and explained that I was NOT feeling the same way I felt these past 2 weeks since surgery ( a full feeling )...Well, they said the swelling went down so therefor it was very normal to not feel full anymore. Believe it or not, with the lap band your body does talk to you, I knew it was not the same, so, Dr. JB said ok lets give you a little saline 1.5 ml... the needle looked really big Im not good with pain so wonderful Kathy held my hand during the fill, it did hurt a little but not to bad, I survived... As soon as Kathy gave me a sip of water, it felt like roter rooter, I could feel the water going down and I knew that feeling was back, I was full again...Im so happy and Im glad I went with my gut feeling to be filled...Remember all, Always go with what you feel, it worked for me...

Good for you sharon. Glad you got what you wanted, and it is
all good again. Can I ask you? This all happened in your doctors
office? I think my doctor has you go to the x-ray part of the
hosp. He meets you there, and you do a barium swallow to see
if the band is working right after the fill. I guess they all do
it different. Well feel good.
Be well,

Hi Sharon,
Congrats on your surgery. I just had my second fill on the 20th of Dec...first one was 5 weeks out. You prob will not notice a big difference until you get your second fill....it will feel like you did when you got home and didn't feel like eating...sweet huh?
1.5 fill is a 1cc fill in the band...the other half a cc goes into your port-line. My first fill was 1 cc. Hmm, no difference. But the second one ...yay. I now have 1.5 in my band and .5 cc in the "line".
Be careful about chewing...take nibbles (something I am not good at-if the dishes in the sink could talk---they'd tell ya...i puked on them now about 4 times..lol) If you feel stuck, don't panic...just let it come back up and out. (graphic I know, but it must be said)
Best wishes!
