Bypass surgery is 1/29. I'm going to be on a 1 week business trip in early March (travel by car). I need suggestions of what I'll be able to eat then, and what I can bring with me to eat.

Bob, At 6 weeks or so post-op, I'd bring a bunch of liquid protein supplements, premixed to be poured over ice to drink. New pouches are notoriously finicky about what they will accept. Check with your nutritionist about exactly how much protein s/he wants you to get in at that time. Good luck, RobinNJ

FYI**** Protein shakes are not to be pre-mixed! My nut said that they can grow bacteria. If you look at the back of the Designer Whey protein powder it says to drink immediately! Just don't want anyone to get sick. My advice would be to check the packet of the protein and make sure it doesn't say to drink immediately. Thanks Carroll

I probably wasn't clear. My bad. I meant to bring the pre-packaged protein shakes, like AdvantEdge for example. I used them on vacation last summer because they don't require refrigeration and taste pretty good. RobinNJ
