Hello Elaine: I didnt have lapband, but I did have the bypass. I had my surgery on December 15, 2006. It will be exactly a month on Monday. Every since I had the surgery, I have been in a very emotional state. I know its in part to the fact that I cannot eat like I used to...I know that its in part to just regular life stresses...I know that its also due to the fact that I dont feel normal anymore. I feel like my life is consumed my wls daily. Gotta make sure I take my vitamins...make sure I am getting in enough protien....make sure that I am getting in enough water.....make sure I get enough sleep....day after day after day. Its a lot to do and alot to think about and I dont know if it ever gets easier. I am doing well today though. Today is a good day. This is a rollercoaster ride for sure. I hope this helps. Grace & Peace Treena PS. By the way, I had a therapist before I got the surgery and continue to go to her because it is definately needed post-op.

Nothing to be scarred about. The preop testing is worse then the actually surgery. Its a pain in the butt (stomach) having surgery and being in a hospital. However, when all is said and done- I have had dental work that caused me more pain and problems then this did. I was up and about the afternoon of my surgery- left the next day and drove about 60 miles the following day (home) Read my profile and others. I hope that everyone had as easy experience as mine. I am out 8 weeks yesterday and down 61 pounds......
