I am 13 months post op with gastic bypass and I do occassionally vomit the white foam, but right now, I am having upper abdominal pain. It started yesterday but I thought it was gas pain. I just ate about an hour ago & it's back, only now it is getting pretty bad. It is radiating around to my sides. I am afraid that it could be an obstruction of the instestins. They spoke about this at my support group, but no one had had it so I don't know what it should feel like. This is the first time I have had any abdominal pain since surgery. Has anyone had an obstruction. Pls advise asap. Thanks, Doreen

Doreen~ That sounds like the pain I had when I called my doctor, it was awful and sharp pain. I was very severely constipated. I have to take laxatives every other day and double the normal fiber supplements. I need to drink more too, I am working on that. Good luck, please call the doctor too! Michelle Brennan

I had that too, and for me it was constipation. I take Miralax, once, sometimes twice a day. It's a non addictive non stimulating miracle drug. Fiber supplements and consuming extra fiber did not help, until I did the miralax with a big bowl of fiber one each day. But, you should not self diagnose and call your doctor. Angela

Angela~ Is the Miralax prescription or over the counter? It sounds like something I could use. Thanks Michelle Brennan

Doreen, Sorry you are in so much pain! Do you have your gall bladder or did they remove it when you had surgery? If you have your gall bladder it could be that......but call your doctor ASAP! Hope you feel better soon!

When I read this I first thought "gall bladder". I had mine out, and the pain goes around to the right side. But always call the doctor. Be on the safe side. Be well, bridget k.

I had that same type of pain myself Doreen. I thought I pulled a muscle or something. Then I thought my band opened up and was sticking me in the side. Dr. Bilfo let me know that it was not the band. Felt around my body, said he felt nothing. Don't know what this pain could be. Did not have it till now (3 months post). I go to my general Dr. tomorrow. Will ask him for an x-ray. Michielle
