? FOR ALL "OPEN RNY'ERS"
I had an open RNY on December 15th and am experience something really wierd. I have a huge lump right under the top the the incision in between my breast bone.
I called the surgeon last Wednesday and he said that this is something normal and that I should apply warm compresses' to it and if it is still there by Tuesday to give him a call back and I could come in for an emergency appointment.
I am still taking the pain meds because it hurts when I take a deep breath, stretch my arms over my head, or walk.
I want to know if you have experienced this? If so, what was done about it?
I am really concerned because today is Sunday and that lump has not gone down.
Please give me your input!
Thanks
Treena
I would be careful with the whole gentle message thing. If you don't have a fever, don't sweat it, it isnt an infection which is what counts. Other wise do as your doc says, keep warm compress's on it. It is most likely scar tissue forming, or just swelling from healing. I am still swollen a bit where my new puchy actually is and my scar is not fully healled. The last of the stitches just fell off last week. Good luck with everything.
