Hi All, I was home and post op 6 days, but, on day 6 I started to pass what seemed to be old clots. I'm sorry to be graphic, but, what was in the bowl was a combo of very dark pasty bowel, also with a good amount of blood. I was admitted back into the e.r., and then discharged the next day. I have to see gastro Dr. on Tuesday, but, I'm getting a bit nervous. I have a great barriatric Dr., and have all confidence in him. I'm just curious if anyone else has heard of this.....

I have to say that I have not heard of th is. But when I was in the hospital the nurses were extremely concerned about there being blood of ay kind or darkness in the stool. Go to the GI doc asap. Good luck with it all.

it could all be just from the surgery and old stool and blood left in your system but be sure to have it checked out. good luck, merry christmas, jacki

Hi All, I think Jackie was right, it seemed to be quite a bit of old blood left in my system. It lasted for 4-5 days, then, I had a colonoscopy done which revealed no problems. It seems that whatever it was worked it's way out as today I had a normal movement for the first time. Thank God I have an excellent Dr.. Even though this happened through the Christmas holiday, he wanted me to keep him updated every time there was an episode. Thanks to you for your support. John
