Medical ID Jewelry

Does anyone know what exactly needs to be written on the Medical ID jewelry. I know that it needs to state No NG Tubes, and Gastric Bypass. But does anyone know what else needs to be there?

Although I don't wear mine anymore, I did for the first two years post op. Mine stated "Gastric Bypass 6/03 - No NG Tube w/o Scope" Nannette

One thing that is not on mine but I wish was is also no nsaids. I was in the ER for a kidney stone and they knew nothing about what I could and could not have. They were very close to giving me nsaids and if I had not said something they would have. I did get mine on ebay and I was able to customize it however I wanted. Another point to bring up is as nice as they look you are better off with one that looks plain vs. one that is a pretty type one. In talking with emt's they said they often can overlook them if they look too much like jewelry. Just something to think about. Melissa

Your Name, DOB, Gastric RNY & Surgery Date, NO Blind NG tube, NO NSAIDS, and any allergies you may have. Helpful to list your surgeons name and phone number also.
