I have been approved!!!!

I got the letter in the mail on Wednesday telling me that my insurance has approved the surgery. I am so excited!!!! I am going through the Barix Clinics in Langhorne, PA. I am just waiting on their main branch to send all paperwork over to them, in which im told can take a few weeks... ughhhhh...... but im on the road to a new me! My husband is going for the surgery also... we are hoping to get it done on the same day..... but we will see. We have decided to go with the RNY procedure. I am a bit nervous, scared, and excited to be honest. I am just hoping to get a surgery date soon. Will keep ya posted.

First of all, CONGRATS! :-) and GOOD LUCK! What insurance do you have? i was told by Barix Clinics that generally they dont have approval or referrals from Aetna HMO. So i started searching for surgeons in my area, but i would prefer to go to Barix Clinics. Please let me know. Thanks. :-)

hi christine congrats on your approval!!!!!!!! my husband and i did the team approach it works lol but i'm not sure if you want to go the same day -- coming home you really need someone to help ya -- maybe a month apart might be better think about it take care roberta

Thank you everyone... i am so excited! We have Horizon BCBS of New Jersey POS. To be honest the approval went really quick. We started the process in August of going to the Barix Clinic to check it out and we went for our psychological evaluations in the end of October. I was really impressed with Barix when we went. They were so straight forward and answered all of our questions we had. On top of that we actually got a chance to sit down with the surgeon who will be operating on us. His name is Alan Brader. As of right now my husband is all set to go to make a date. I on the other hand have to wait a bit. My insurance approved it but put the wrong doctors name down on the paper work... so just waiting on that.. minor delay but i can deal..... I am really interested in knowing more about the couples who did the surgery as a Team! Any advice you can give... would love to know and learn. If i dont get on sometime this weekend have a wonderful Christmas....
