THI " CHI" ..... IT IS WONDERFUL
Hello all bandsters!!
Just wanted to mention how great "thi chi" is.
I started last year, one class a week, I'm gong to
try for two a week now.
You can call your local hospital, alot of them run classes.
I suffer from arthritis, and bad knees.
This is something I can do and you don't have to get on the floor
or bring a mat. Just wanted to give you the idea.
Also, has anyone tried it. It my answer. That and in the
pool. And walking to music. Those are the three things that
I can do.
Luv u all!!
Bridget k.
Bridget,
I was just diagnosed with osto arth in both of my knees. I started the "chicken fat" injections this week hoping that it will help. I am also going to start taking Ultram. I find exercising very difficult. Can you tell me where you take the class and what you do. I am hoping to get enough relief from these therapies to be able to walk a few blocks without pain.
Any info you can give me would be appreciated.
Happy Holidays.
Jeanne
Oh! Jeanne
it is wonderful. I too have very bad knees. I was told that
I would prob. Need knee replacement. One of the reasons that
I'm having this surgery done. I too have had "sinvise" shots.
Series of 3 in 3 weeks. So far so good. I too carry ultraset
with me. That is the one you can drive with ultram is stronger
and I would not drive with it.
Check with your hospital's, cyo's, local colleges have them also.
All thi chi is are slow movements, that go into one after an
other. Music is played, "sounds" of nature. You don't have to
get on the floor, you can stop and rest whenever. You are
not all sweaty or out of breath, you just feel good. I think
yoga is good also, but they get on the floor, and I cannot do
that. So I suggest you try it. It is only once a week. I take
it in collingswood, nj. It is sponcered by "lourdes health program".
It is an "male rn that teaches the class. He is excellent.
You can put "thi chi" into the top of your computer, and their is some
sites that will show how it is done.
Keep me posted. When did you have your surgery? What kind did you
have? Put me on your friends list.
Take care

Hey! Bard,
you would love it. I started last year when my husband was in germany.
I had time on my hands, and wanted to do something positive for me.
So I started going to this class that was offered by "lourdes hosp."
however it is at their health build. In collingswood, on haddon ave.
It is about a 16 min, ride for me after work, but I look forward to it.
It is now $15.00 a class, if you drop in, or you can wait until it
starts the new set of "10 classes, and than it is just $75.00 for
the 10 classes, it is on thurs. One is at 4:15 to 5:15, another is at
5:30pm to 6:30 pm. So I go right from work.
Because I'm waiting to have surgery, and I had so much running around
to do with having surgery, I did not go this last round. Which this
on extends a few extra weeks. Do to the holiday. So the next round
starts in feb. So I will prob. Start back than. Let me know if you
would like to go., and I will meet you there. Or you can look into one
closer to your home. Check the hospitals, they are running classes
like crazy, because it is slow moving, none sweating, and you don't
have to get on the floor. You learn a routine of moves, and it just
takes care of everything, inside, mind body and spirit.
Let me know bard.
Goodnight, I have to go to sleep study tomorrow night,
have all the gue!! In my hair, and try and get it out, and show
up for work, at 6:30 tues morn. This will be fun. This is because
I have a mild case, and I need a machine. I've had 9 other surgeries,
and never needed a machine.
I will talk to ya, prob. Wed, by the time I get done with this thing.
I also have to look over my calendar for a long weekend, so is
can add 5 days to it, and have 9 days to recoup before going back to
work. Prob. Early feb. Will be my time.
Good night,
barb,
bridget k.
I will look into the chi--see if they have it closer to my home..sounds cool.
Good luck with the sleep study....did I tell you the glue trick? Use conditioner then shampoo and condition your hair...the conditioner neutralizes the glue.
Its actually good that you know about the sleep apnea...it doesn't have to be forever, I am glad I found out about mine--can be pretty serious stuff during surgery.
Take care, talk to you soon!
Barb
Hey! Barb,
how are ya? Just wanted to tell you I did fine at sleep study
until they woke me up at 5:15am, I did not get to sleep there until
11:30pm. So I was draging that day. But glad it is over. I had a nice
women take care of me. I slept with the one that goes in your
nose. I think it is uncomfortable, but I was so tired by the
time she wired me up I did not care. Going for the date of
feb. 12th. The following weekend I have a 4 day weekend. So each
week, "week before, and week after the weekend. I will be using
8 sick days, than the following week using two. I will return
to work on the 26th 27th. It gives me about 15 days total.
What do you think? It should be enough.
How are you doing with the weight thing?
Also what stuff should I have in the house, coming home from
surgery? If you can give me a few things to get.
Thanks,
bridget k.
