Just got my Date YIPPI!!!! Jan 8, 2007

I am soooo excited just got my date for my lap band surgery, January 8, 2007....Unfortunatly, my insurance (Aetna) won't cover it. My BMI is only 33 and they refuse to pay, Oh well, what am I going to do, I really want to have this done so Im paying for it....Any advice I would love to hear....Thanks, Sharon

hi sharon you could wait until your BMI goes up to 35 -- aetna will pay for it then if you have other conditions associated with your weight -- i have aetna and it was covered 100% good luck roberta

Roberta, Thanks for your reply, but that's kind of foolish to gain weight just for the surgery, I don't get it, why would anyone want to do that????

so that you don't have to pay $20,000 or whatever it is out of your own pocket roberta

Don't think so Roberta, I really would never do that , I'd rather pay for my surgery the right way then gain weight just to be covered....
