Realizing that you would prefer to have your surgery in Jersey, but looking at the results and feed back of many others in my support group, you should consider coming to Barix in Langhorne, Pa. The support and after care are phenominal. I have met others who had their surgeries at U of P, Temple, Hahnemann, etc. and they all say the same thing, "should have gone to Barix". We have a tremendous support group, and Barix gives you an education in writing, we call it the "bible". There are people who have come to Barix from many different states, most of us who have had RNY surgery return to work in 2 weeks unless we like to use extra time off. You will be able to drive as soon as you are off pain meds. But for a lap band you probably won't need that much time off. The surgeon at Barix who does the Lap Band is Dr. Brader, you can look him up on this site. If you decide to come to Barix, I look forward to meeting you at the support group meetings. We hold the Pre-op Meetings every 2nd Tuesday and the Post-op every 3rd Wednesday. Both meetings start at 7 P.M. Promptly.
