Affraid....

Hello everyone, IM so affraid IM not going to lose any weight since my BMI is only 33..(having lap band in Jan).My doctor is doing the surgery because I have diabetes and can definitly lose like 40-50 lbs...Should I be scared about this or does everyone lose ...I will definitly do exactly what he tells me to do but Im still worried....I just love this web site it really helps with all of my questions I have and look foward to a long future with everyone here....Thanks, Sharon

Hi Sharon, I had the Lap RNY procedure, but I can tell you that every person is different. It is very important to follow your doctor's instructions and if you feel as though you're not getting full, then you need to inform your surgeon ASAP so that he or she can adjust the band. We all have fears as to whether or not this procedure will work. I suggest not comparing yourself to everyone else's progress. As long as you are loosing, that's all that matters. Hi Sharon, Which procedure are you thinking of having? I had the lap band in July and have lost 40 pounds. I chose lap because it is less invasive and safer. Everyone is scared, but I have to tell you that I am SO glad I did this!! Julie
