Dr. Trivedi may be coming to Kimball!

Hello Friends~ I went to see Dr. Trivedi up in Hackensack yesterday. During our visit he asked me if I was familiar with Kimball Medical Center, because he knows I live in Brick. I told him I am very familiar, it's about 7 miles from my home and we have a support group there. He went on to ask me about our group. Who runs it? When is it? Is there a doctor associated with it or at the meetings? I told him everything he wanted to know and he told me that he might be coming down here! I was so excited. I told him all about the Center for Healthy Living and he really liked the idea that our group meets in a seperate building, with it's own bathrooms and kitchen and meeting room. He really wants to come down and get involved. Supposedly, he very recently operated on someone who is involved in running Kimball Medical Center. Then he operated on his wife. They want him to come down here and operate at Kimball now. He is meeting the people who will make the decision in early December and told me to give him a call and check the status out the following week. I asked him if I could share this with all of you, since a lot of people in our Toms River and Lakewood groups used that group as our surgeons.... and he said absolutely, let them know I really want to get closer to the shore area so they don't have to drive so far to see me. I am very excited at the thought of having such high caliber surgeons right at our fingertips, around the corner, within decent driving distance! Hi Michelle, That sounds like great news for people in your area. Is he thinking of moving his practice? That would make me nervous because I am in Bergen County and near his office in Hackensack. How have you been doing? I haven't had time to post on the boards but I've tried to check in now and then. Julie G.

Hello Julie~ I don't think that Dr. Trivedi would leave Hackensack, I didn't get that impression at all. I think he might be looking at a very part time thing down here, maybe 1 day a week? Maybe 2? I really didn't ask him for specific days, or how many he would be down here, but I can't see him giving up what he has worked so hard for up in Hackensack. I will ask him when I talk with him though. I am doing well, 12 weeks since surgery (tomorrow actually) and I have lost about 50 pounds, the scale is moving up one pound, down two lately...... Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Michelle. I have lost 35 lbs so far with two fills. I know that I am due for another fill because things are going down too easily and I can eat a bit more. This time of year is tough for anyone (they say the average person gains 5-8lbs) but I intend to work through the stress and tension. How often do you have to see Dr. Trivedi with RNY? Julie~ My surgery was 12 weeks ago and I have seen him twice. I also had a phone consult with the nutritionist one time. I saw him at 2 weeks for the post surgery class and then again last week. I will see him again in 6 weeks, after the holidays. I am hoping by then, he might be down here! Enjoy your holidays too Michelle Brennan
