IS EVERYONE ON THIS FORM FROM NEW JERSEY? ALSO YOU HAVE ALL HAD LAPBAND?
Hello to all,
I'm pretty new on this site. I'm working towards having lapband
surgery, hopefully in dec/2006.
I'm seeing alot of people are having the gastric by-pass. They seem
to loose the most weight. Would some of you share on your weight
loss with lapband. I hope we can be a success also.
It is great that I found this site, and again, hello to all.

I just read on this site about a women that had lap band, and she
said she starved living on soup and such. Than she said she had lost
98lbs and gained it all back. She did alot of throwing up. She is
now having "gb" and on the road to losing. She said it is much better,
and she would not do lap band again if they paid her.
Can you tell me, how it was adjusting to what you can eat. I know
that you must start out very slow due to swelling. But did you
do the throwing up? My doctor tells me that your body adjust
and you do not have the hunger that you had with a larger
stomach. Can you build me up again. Their are not enough people
on this site with lap band. They all seem to be RNY or "gb" they use
so many letters that it is confusing who had what.
Have a good weekend. Would love to have you on my friend list.
Take care

My maiden name is Surgent and I grew up in Wall, graduated Wall High in 1983.
My husband is from a family of 7 children and they grew up in Spring Lake, Sea Girt and Wall. He went to Manasquan High, Red Bank Catholic and graduated from a very small private Christian school in 1979. He has 3 brothers, Greg, Rod, Timmy and Billy, and 2 sisters, Ellen and Janice. They range from 52 down to 32 in age. You might know some of them? Some of them went to St. Rose and Monsignor Donovan, they were all over the place with schools!
We live in Lake Riviera now, where are you in Brick? We could meet for lunch if you want to talk with someone about what you can expect from surgery. Just let me know.

Thank you for all of your responses.
However, I guess I'm real new!!! What is \"RNY\" stand for?
I guess I need someone to let me know what the different
letters mean for different surgeries.
We have alot of rain here, and I'm on my way out to do the
sleep study thing. I hate driving in the rain, I just did it
all day with my job. But I have to get this list done to
fight with the ins. Co.
Take care all of you, be safe in this weather,

My ANSWER:
I have not thrown up once or had food stuck. I eat the amount of food recommended. I have had a couple of fills so far and I feel myself getting full and I stop eating. I don't want to throw up or have food stuck so I cut my food small and chew it well. In the past 27 years, I haven't lost this much weight on any diet I have been on. I love my band!
