Although I was banded 9/01/06 I have only lost 13 pounds! I am still hungry, feel like I can eat anything (and do). I had one fill and am having a second one this fri 17th. Now people are telling me it might take 3 fills to control my hunger and eating!! Will I ever not be hungry? I have a 4cc band, my friend has a 10cc band - anyone know the difference? Will the 10cc band do better?

Calm down! First yes it may take 3 or more fills. Second - 13 pounds is great. Remember you had lap band, not bypass. You should have known going into it that it would be slower especially until you are at your sweet spot. The difference in band size goes by the size of your stomach. Most doctors don't decide which band to give you until they are in surgery. They give you the one that fits you best. There is really no advantage of having one over the other. Kathy, You are doing well!! Do not beat yourself up. After the first fill I had to rely on myself to limit what I was eating, but with my second fill I am really feeling restriction. Everyone is different, so BE PATIENT!! Keep drinking LOTS of water. I have 2cc in a 4cc band. Hope this helps. Julie

Hi Kathy, I also have a 4 cc band. I have only had one fill (2 weeks ago) and have only lost 2 lbs since the fill (24 all together). I have 1 cc in my band, but I think i will do better after the second fill (12/20...Merry Christmas to me...LOL) The 10 cc band wouldn't be better because it goes by the size of your stomach..so for sake of arguement (not really but you know what i mean)....if you had a 10cc band....you'd prob need like an 8cc fill.....and that would take months to get to that. I know for me...I need to exercise, which i have yet to do. I am in school full time and there are so many papers due and projects that I just don't have the time to exercise...I shouldn't even be here..I should be working on my homework right now...lol. I also know that I could make better food choices....such as today I had a bagel with butter and a cup of coffee (not at the same time) so I need to start meal planning...I plan on doing just that this weekend. I will do all the planning for the week this saturday. AND, I will go back to tracking my food. (i have slacked on that too) Fitday.com is awesome and free! Having said all that I am still not discourage and you shouldn't be either. It will just take some adjustment till we get to our "sweet spot" as they call it. Let me know how you feel after friday!!
