Hello Lashelle, congrats on taking the first step at a new life. I too am leary about DR's that charge an extra price for support groups. I have heard that new beginnings is very pricey around the 1500$ range. Now if you feel comfortable with that go for it, but definitely look at more DR's. As far as different docs that perform the surgery, I know of Dr. Gus J. Have you decided what type of wieght loss surgery(WLS) you want? RNY, LapBand, DS, there are many types research and find out which one best suits your needs. I couldn't agree with Tyshea more! I am very leary of doctors that charge for their support groups. WOW... there are so many good doctors out there that don't. Enough said.. I have to get back to my work now before I get myself in trouble! Michelle

Hi Lashelle, I just want to give you some words of encourgment. I to have Cigna and they are the worst!!!!!!!! I must say cudos to my doctor and his staff they have went above and beyond and I just received approval yesterday and my surgury is scheduled for Dec 13. Please do give up like I did. After i was denied the first time from Cigna i lost all hope but my doctor didnt stop. He would call me himself and ask me how are things going. That let me know he really cared. He gave me people to call to assist me with the insurance. I finally gave up about a month ago. Oh did i mention i started this crusade last June... and it has finally came full circle. I live Northern NJ, Union County. If you were a little closer i would definetely give you my doctor's in. Shoni
