I am so excited. I went this morning for my first checkup, 1 week apt. I was prepared for what he would say so I thought. In the hospital the surgeon had said not to expect to loose as fast as my husband did. Well he lost 10 lbs his first week so I thought if I have lost 10 I owuld be happy. At least I would not be behind where he was at that time. Well I am sooooo excited. I LOST 24 lbs!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! I have not been this excited about anything since my wedding. This was amazing to me. I was floored and the look on my husbands face was utter shock. I just can not believe it. This is gonna work!!!! He also cleared me to move onto the next stage in foods. That just seems to open a whole new world for me. I had @ 3oz of cottage cheese with a little bit of salt and pepper in it when I got home and it was sooo tasty. I am really excited. I know I keep saying that but I really really am. The doc says I will only probably loose 10 more lbs the next time I see him which is the end of the month so we will see. I guess only time will tell. I am doing all that I am supposed to do. He said to keep working on the water and I will get to the point where I can get it all in. I just can not wait to see what the future really holds for me now!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Melissa!!! That is great for the first week. I live in Whippany so we are pretty close to each other. I had my surgery with Dr. Abkin on 6/19/06 and have lost 70 pounds so far and only 30-40 more till goal. Are you going to the support group meeting in Basking Ridge at the end of the month? I've been going since the beginning and it does help with the process. There is always a nutritionist there and she answers alot of great questions plus gives us reciepes sometimes for high protein dinners. Keep up the good work and remember to drink, drink, drink. I had a problem with dehydration in the beginning, beleive me you don't want to get to that point. Karen
