I was just told by my dr that I should look at having the bypass. I had the band done in 2004 and have lost 80lbs, but have lost anything in 10 months actually gained 10 lbs. I do not want to do the bypass, any suggestions, has anyone been told this??? Thanks for you help robin

hi robin wow we are neighbors, im in manchester and work in lakewood. i dont know what to tell you, i had rny in july and lost 63 pounds so far. i guess it would kinda depend on how much weight you still have to lose. give it some thought, just because the doc suggested it does not mean that its the right choice for you. good luck with your decision, jacki

Get a different Barriatric Doc's opinion first....why specifically did they say that?? And did he give any reason as to why you haven't lost in 10 months? Also do you see a dietician??? Not that bypass is bad....but its not reversible.....know your options and know why your weight is at a stand still. My bet would be diet and exercise has a lot to do with it. Best Wishes to you!
