Is everyone here happy with their surgery? Does anyone regret getting the Lap Band? And is there food that you totally have to give up or is it just the portions? I don't mean like cake and stuff I know that has to go I mean like bread or pasta. Thank you. Mike

Hi Mike and welcome! Happy isn't even the word!!! OMG I would do this again in a heart beat!! I am 5 weeks out and I have been able to eat pizza (only one slice and I give the crust to the dog--she loves my band too now..lol) I can eat pasta...jus****ch the portions. I had to be careful with cream of wheat...it go sorta stuck once..but my doc doesn't recommend cream of wheat, he says the wheat expands-which I never thought of---I just drank hot tea and bam---went down! I did also have a problem with chunk light tuna....gonna go back to albacore..seems chunk light is heavy and dense and can get stuck too. But other than that, I eat pretty much what everyone else does and its great!!!!!!!! And I had my first fill yesterday....awesome! no pain, and i have lost 2 lbs since...its all good!!! I hope this helped! Take care, Barb

Thank you Barbara, Have you had any problems lifting? My job is very physical and I am wondering about my recovery if I do it. Thanks again for responding to my post. Mike

Hi Mike, The only things I wasn't allowed to do is: drive for a week and vacuum for 2 weeks. But then again, I am in college full time and do not work right now. If you do heavy lifting, you can count on being out of work for a few weeks. Unless you have a job where someone else can do the lifting for you...that might work. Best wishes! Barb

Thanks again Barbara. I guess I will have to look into this alittle more. Mike
