Sleep Study Done

Hi All: Well no surprise here, I have sleep apnea... I swear I thought the guy was going to plug me into the wall with all the wires they had glued and hooked to my head and face.. and the was so hard to sleep on.... So now i have to get a mask to sleep with how uncomfortable. but if it helps then i will now complain.. I will see everyone tonight at the support meeting.. Charlene

Hi Charlene, I'm glad it's behind you... try on a few different types of masks.... some are better for stomach sleepers than back sleepers, etc.... don't wear it for the first time on a night you have to go to work in the morning! Try it on a Friday... it does take some getting used to! Good luck... Mary

Hi charlene, I'm bridge, I'm new today to the site. I also have to have the sleep study done. I don't have a date yet, but I saw your post and hoped I could ask you. Did you have to sleep there a whole night? Is it a private room? Do they give you any med's to help you sleep? I find it hard to sleep when away from home. Good luck to you, if I read right, your surgery was nov 6th. I could be wrong. Are you from south jersey? Thanks bridge,,,,or nobetterwomen.

Hi Bridge how are you.. Welcome to the site... Its a wealth of information. Especially if you start going to support groups. you will learn alot from this site..Ok lets start answers 1-yes you sleep there overnight 2-yes private room 3-no meds to help you sleep 4-they do u nhook you if you need to use the bathroom 5-wear shorts and a loose shirt they have to strap you with wires 6-you can still wear your undergarments 7-you can bring pillows from home and a blanket.. I did and slept ok (better if i was home) even though the bed was stinky 8-if you have apnea they will wake you up approx 1:20 am and put a mask on your head and nose then you can go back to sleep.. If I left anything out i will remember later, but its a piece of cake. i live at exit 58 on the parkway... my surgery is november 29th.. If you need anymore help let me know. Charlene

Hi! Charlene, that is good info: on the shorts. I have a problem with someone covering my mouth with something. I hope they do not put anything on my face. I will pray that I do not have it. Sometimes I have to go the the bathroom about 4 times before going to sleep. They are going to love me. Do they let you watch tv. That always helps me. I live off exit #3 on nj turnpike. I use to live at exit 148 on gsp. Bridge
