SUPPORT GROUPS IN CENTRAL NEW JERSEY

Does anyone know of any good support groups in central jersey. I went to one a few weeks back at Dr. Brolins in Monmouth Junction but it wasnt what I was looking for. Is anyone aware of any that I can join because I am due to get my operation on December 15th, but I am getting it in Philly and I need to join a local support group. PLEASE HELP!!!!! PS If you dont know of any please give me some ideas on how I can start my own and get people to come. Treena

I live in the Old Bridge area and I drive an hour away to Dover, NJ - I know of nothing in the area. They had something in Perth Amboy listed but I sent e-mails and never received anything back. So I am very interested in this also. Irene

I get my surgery in December so I will probably try to start on up after the holidays. I will be happy for you to join. I am going to see if I can get our pool house to hold meeting in and see if I can get people to come once a month. I am not that far from Old Bridge, just a short ride up route 18 and then down route 1. Simple!!!

The closest to you that I know about are in Long Branch on the 4th Thursday of each month at Monmouth Medical Center, sponsored by Dr. Borao. The next two are both Ocean County WLS Support Groups (OCWLS) - one in Toms River on the first Friday of each month at Community Medical Center, and the other is in Lakewood on the third Monday of each month at Kimball Medical's Center for Health Living. Thank you so much for all of your help. I will check into those, but all of them are so far from me. I think that I am going to end up starting my own. I can see that Central Jersey this way is neglected.

Dr. Fares in Trenton has a support group as part of his practice. I don't know if you can join or not if you're not using him for surgery. Check it out. http://www.bariatric1.com/ RobinNJ

I was told that there is one at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield NJ. You may want to check there.
