Hey room, I was scheduled for my 2nd sleep study tonight, but they at the hospital said I was on schedule for last night. I was to be fitted for my CPAP machine. They have no openings between tonight and next week. In am scheduled for my surgery on Nov. 2nd. I am so frustrated, I know that I am going to be postponed for surgery due to this mixup. I am so upset. I want to binge, but I know it will not solve anything. I want to have a glass of wine, but what will that solve and my husband is acting like my father telling me I do not need to have the wine or the food, just pray. I DON'T WANT TO PRAY!!!!! : -@ I want it to be okay right know!!!! I am sorry I had to let that out. : -( I have prayed and I know it will be okay, I am just upset and still trying to overcome my addiction to food right know. Does anyone have any words of encouragement for me. Please help me through this somebody.

Hi Moniquea, Now is the perfect time to begin learning how to find other ways to handle disappointments in life besides eating and drinking as this will be something that you shouldn't do once you have your surgery. This is just one of life's stumbling blocks and you will get through it. Anxiety is also playing a part as you are so close to being on the losing side, yet it seems like an eternity for your surgery date to arrive. What I would suggest you do is contact the hospital to see if they can contact you if there are any cancellations. Believe me, persitence can do wonders. I wish you the best on your journey and you keep thinking positive thoughts and all will be good. Carla

Hello... Did you tell them that you have to have this before the surgery?? And why didn't they tell you it was last night....my sleep study place called to confirm the appt. And, if you have sleep apnea....its imperative that you get that mask prior to surgery --its actually more important at this time than the surgery itself! They put you so far under that your bodily functions slow....when you sleep at home you already stop breathing....can you imagine what would happen if you were put out now...how are you going to keep breathing with out the mask??? So this is a good thing--getting the mask. I don't believe that praying will keep you from eating...it biological...not spiritual (i know that sounds mean, and I don't mean it to. but we eat for a biological reason-that is why you lose weight in a bypass....biology) However, you are so close to this surgery you don't want to blow it now.....you can do this!! Maybe keeping yourself occupied (easier said than done i know...but it could help!) Your gonna be great and this is just a set back....hey wait were you even told that it pushes your surgery back??? Soon this will all be water under the bridge, surgery will be done and you will be on your way to a great new you!! If wine doesn't make you want food---go for it, a little relaxation is a good thing. And, call the sleep study people and plead your case. All the best to you!!!

I have to wear shades this morning to block the puffy eyes. I cried myself to sleep to avoid eating myself to death. I felt like I was sleep for hours but it was actually 2 hours past when I awoke to a calm feeling. I was more relaxed than ever. I got up got a drink of WATER and not wine and went back to sleep with positive thoughts. THis morning I called my pulmonary office to tell them of the mishap. They said that they would contact the sleep centerand get me in. I then called my surgeons office and was told that without the mask my surgery would be postponed. Needless to say the hospital called me back and appologized for the misunderstanding and fit me in for the sleep test tomorro night. I am sooooo happy I did not blow my journey on food and alchohol last night. : - D
