i used a Dr. Earl NOyan, he works out of Robert Wood Johnson in Hamilton, NJ. i really liked him, but im not sure what insurances he takes, you would have to check. just a note though, he is in a sole practice, and did not have a big support network, such as a nutritionist who he worked with, although he may now. i liked him though, and i felt he answered all my questions. good luck with your search, jacki

He is wonderful. If you are having the surgery with Dr.Capella it will be open and there will be Dr.Iannace assisting him.I had Dr.Iannace as my surgeon with Dr.Capella assisting. They are both wonderful.I liked their version because he puts a band around the new pouch.Go to his website!!! check him out. I also want to add that is up to you for follow-up visits .Research!!! even though you read about it and your mind understands it's not until you go through it that you really know what you've gotten yourself into.Prepare to loose your comfort through food. It's like peeling an onion.Your layers will shed and the real you will come through. I would do it all over again. It's not the easy way out. It's a lot of work and patients. Eat very slowly and chew your food very well. good luck!!!

I had Dr. Schmidt in Hackensack for my lap RNY and I had a great experience. I had surgery on 8/30/06 at 10:30 a.m. and by 5:00 p.m., I was walking around the nurses' station...hunched over and holding on to my IV pole, but I was up and walking! I took 2 pain pills just to help me sleep after I got home and that was it. I weighed 309 pre-surgery, I've lost 47 lbs. in 8 weeks and I've never felt better. Asthma, high blood pressure, snoring...gone. Arthritis...much better. I have Horizon BC/BS and he is in network along with Hackensack University Medical Center. He has an EXCELLENT post-surgical care staff and I can call anytime with a question. I did research for over a year and the first surgeon I chose turned out to not be the right one for me...I am incredibly fortunate I found Dr. Schmidt and the staff at Advanced Laparoscopic Associates. I know that he saved my life.

I had 2 consults with 2 different doctors but I chose Alexander Abkin from Florham Park. The man knows his stuff. You have to feel comfortable with them though and with their ability. Every nurse or hospital staff that asked me who my surgeon was has nothing but praise for Dr. Abkin. I feel very blessed to have found him. Rose

I had Dr. Jean-baptiste in plainfield NJ. No other surgeon i consulted with cared as much as he did. I feel like he really passionate about what he does and that's why he has 100% success. Can't go wrong with Dr. JB.
