Barbara~ YOU GOT IT! That is head hunger. Head hunger is when your 16 year old daughter asks you to bake 50 cupcakes for the football teams snack, and you know you can't even lick the beaters (I LOVED THAT PART!!) when you are making them! I had to make the cupcakes, decorate them and put them in her bedroom, and shut the door behind me! I couldn't look at them or smell them. My HEAD was telling me to go get one, after all I did all the work...... I had to try one! MY stomach was telling me how much I hate throwing up.... I haven't since the surgery, but I hated it before.... my stomach was not hungry-it hasn't been since the surgery six weeks ago... and I know in my brain that no food even tastes good to me yet. BUT those damned cupcakes just USED to taste so good. It happens to me all the time. I go into a restaurant and I have flashbacks, but I know nothing will actually taste good to me. I could try everything on the menu, but nothing would please me, not like it used to. No joy from food, this is a first in my lifetime. It's good, but it's surely a big change. I used to get a lot of joy from the taste/comfort/feel of eating a good meal. I don't have that anymore. I am mourning for sure. I will get past this, some days are harder than others. How are you feeling? Michelle Brennan

Thanks for the info....luckily I don't have that. I had just heard it mentioned a lot lately and tried to figure out what it was..lol. My incisions are healing very nicely. My right incision has a big lump behind it, I think my port is there...must also be some scar tissue too..I'll ask when I go back in a month. Lately I am tired due to bronchitis...yikes. But my big concern is that I lost 15 lbs in the first week and now nothing in the 2nd week. I talked to Donna about this and she told me not to worry, that it would start coming off..but hmmm, can't help worrying. I hardly eat anything...and still trucking all over campus...so the activity level def outweighs food intake...I have followed the low fat/sugar free diet to a T. Except last night..had an egg for breakfast...had to write a paper got so involved I didn't eat lunch, and the next thing I knew it was time to leave for school, so on the way home I ate 2 chicken mcnuggets...chewed them to death, it was uneventful. But that was the worst thing I did...so why is the scale not moving??? Ugh, frustrated this week.

Barbara~ SAME thing happened to me! I lost 22 pounds in the first 12 days and then the scale stood still for 17 days. I was freaking out, called the doctor, asked everyone I knew at group-turns out it's normal! On the 18'th day the scale went down 3 pounds and it's now averaging about a pound every other day. IF you are not eating enough, your body will hold onto the weight too, it's a survival technique yout body knows all on it's own, it's to protect you from starving to death. You might need to up the calories, I did, and it's working... I hate to eat, but have to to keep the weight coming off. Check with your doctor, but I suspect you are doing the same thing I did. Ugh up the calories!!!??? Omg I don't want to eat at all...I am struggling as it is...not to mention, its not so easy to figure out what I can eat...even though I am on modified normal diet. I am not supposed to eat more than three times a day. But I think I may have to add a 4th meal. Yeah I do remember the survival thing....i just figured that because I do eat..and still trekking around campus...that it would be an exception...LOL. Okay so back to the drawing board for me. Gonna have to really plan this out. lol I need a personal assistant I think..ha ha wishful thinking! Back to studying and my fat free sugar free hot chocolate (i am freezing today!) Take care, Barb
