LAP-Band Success Stories wanted
Claudia:
I had lap band on 7/17/06. The surgery took one hour. I was home the next day. I never took one pain pill. I'm down 50 pounds and I'm off all my diabetes medications and all my blood pressure meds. I just took a nuclear stress test and I passed with flying colors. Last year I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath. This year I walked the 3 mile walk our group had on the Seaside Boardwalk and I take the stairs all day now at work. I'm pleased and happy with my band!

Thanks so much for answering me. I had a total melt-down today (crying and asking myself how did I let this weight get so out of control)! I've tried all the diets out there and it's the same old story - lose weight fast, put it back on plus some more! I'm so sick and tired of this!
So let me ask you some questions:
Were you able to go back to work within a few days? Do you feel the port? Did they have to do any band adjustments yet? If so, did it hurt or feel weird? What made you choose this as opposed to Gastric Bypass?
I'm so disgusted with myself. My feet hurt all the time, it's hard for me to climb stairs and the most embarrasing part was when I was in Venice, the Gondola driver asked me to switch seats with a thinner person because I was going to make the boat tip - talk about feeling like crap!!!!
Thanks for letting me vent and thanks for the information.
