Two months out
Hello Everyone
My name is Shonda and I just joined the site today, I'm two months out and I have lost 37 lbs so far, my problems is that I don't want to eat at all, food is nasty to me now, I love to drink but I can not bring myself to eat when and how I should.
Had this happened to any one and if so please advise me on what you did to get over it. I can't go on not eating food.
Thanks
Shonda
Hi Shonda -- It is extremely important for you to get your protein in, or you will have muscle breakdown which is not reversable! I myself had no hunger or desire to eat for almost five months after surgery, but you have to force yourself to take small bites of protein. At the very least, you should have having at least two protein drinks per day (20 grams of protein in each).
You will also find that if you up your protein intake, that you will lose weight faster. Right now, your body thinks it is starving and has gotten extremely "efficient" so your weight loss is slowing down also.
Get to a support meeting and find some answers that work for you.

Hi, Shonda!
I'm 2 months out as well, and most of the food I have eaten is just disgusting. I can eat some light, flakey fish, but it doesn't taste all that great. For the longest time, tuna was nasty, but just yesterday, ate a little on some crackers, and it was so good.
I'm not hungry, which is a big part of why the food doesn't taste well or sit well. I'm working hard at getting my protein in and my water. I had a bit of a stall in my weight loss for about 2 weeks, but have lost 6 more since last week, and I'm now down 61 pounds
Keep trying things - you'll find something you can eat. But in the mean time, get your protein in!!
Hi Shonda!
Beleive me when I tell you enjoy not eating. Just make sure that you drink your protein. Eventually your appetite will come back. Personally, I thought that the 1st year after surgery was the easiest. Drink, Drink. Nothing wrong with it. As a matter of fact the first 3 months, I was always thirsty. I drank water like a camel.
Enjoy your journey!
