Margaret - Some things to think about -- Taco Bell - At 5 months post-op I would get a soft taco - no lettuce, and eat it w/o the shell. Perhaps eating a bean burrito?? Just take it out of the "shell" Subway is great for eating their Tuna Salad -- just a little high in fat. Hmmm... Other things that may not help you -- McDonald's - some have soups in the winter time - cream of broccoli, etc. (Personally I eat their chicken fajita - again - just not the wrap.) Burger King - some of them have veggie burgers -- just take it off the bun, it may be a little too dry for you at this point -- but if you get it w/ cheese it may be just moist enough?? Also - on a side thought - The latte light at Dunkin Donuts has 10 grams of protein in it -- pretty good for a quick fix (of course get the decaf ) Hope this might help -- I lived on egg drop soup at 3 months post-op -- it still had protein in it that was good for me -- but it is made from a chicken broth base --- Good luck!! Hi Holly, thanks for all the great tips! I especially like the one about the latte. That sounds great. I didn't even consider removing the wrapping and buns from things. Thanks again. You've been a great help. Sandy

Hi Sandy! Your not gonna like this, S T A Y A W AY from fast food. Keep a nutrition bar on hand. Make yourself something to eat before you leave you home After 3 years out I try to stay away, unless I'm traveling and then I get salad. Stay strong! Cathy

Hi cathy, actually, I never ate fast food before my surgery so I don't know why I thought it would work after. I guess it was the frustration of trying to find some place to eat when I was just 2 weeks out and finding nothing. And when you have a skinny starving husband, nothing just doesn't cut it. I'll have to plan better in the future. You've got to admit, I received quite a few good tips though. Sandy
