hi everyone well i'm not throwing in the towel -- i might be throwing at towel at someone or something -- but i'm not throwing it in after we played phone tag with the surgeons office i found out that he will not do my surgery because my Hemoglobin is 8.1 -- they want it to be at least a 10 -- low end normal is 11 this means i'm anemic -- no kidding -- it is due to my Hep treatments i have a letter of clearance from my liver doc i have a letter of clearance from my PCP so now i have a call into my PCP to get some Procrit which is an injectable that will boost my red blood cells and make more now, after researching Procrit online it seems as tho it takes 2-6 weeks to get a response -- 2-6 WEEKS?????? lets get out the fingers and count -- there are 1..2..3..10 days DAYS until i'm scheduled for surgery start a Plan D now -- Plan D is to reschedule surgery for november 22 (Wednesday)-- move all my personal days and vacation days to then -- i will be going back to work on 12/18 -- then i'll have the week of christmas - new years off (company perk) then i will miss my high school reunion on 11/24 -- and my son will have to wait to see his g/f up in boston -- and the grandson will have to wait but it will give us more time to save money while i'm out -- and get my blood levels up without me being a nervous wreck (like i am right now) ya know, Plan D isn't sounding so bad Roberta ya know -- maybe we can go up to boston the weekend before????? leave here on friday night -- stay saturday -- come home sunday -- surgery on wednesday -- no B/S with thanksgiving traffic -- ------------- and then i can still have a baked apple pancake at Bickfords -- and some chinese food -- and........ oh my i think this is a better plan

Roberta, I am so sorry that you have to postpone. But these things happen for a reason. Your surgeon has a great reputation and he would not do anything to put you in harms way. Jeanne
