hi females!! is it suggested that you take 325 mg Iron a day by your surgeon or nutritionist?? PA Hosp requires that for menstruating woman that we take 325 mg a day NONE at Wal mart NONE at GNC - 18 mg or 28 mg NONE at Walgreens Shop.com has them if i want to order a gazillion -- they come 100 to a blister pack for $2.45 -- great deal -- but i need a minimum order of $20.00 if you use this can ya tell me where to buy them -- or if i do have to buy a gazillion i would be more than happy to share with everyone in my area!! Thanks Roberta

i took for awhile after surgery, it was difficult to figure this one out. i ended up buying rite aid brand the pkg is red and says "iron 65mg" the line underneath says "from ferrous sulfate 325 mg" i figured that was close enough to what i needed good luck jacki

Jacki, you may want to check with your doc re: the ferrous sulfate....anything with a "sulfate" in it may irritate your pouch, in the long run. Iron types to consider are amino acid chelated iron (I get chewables and capsules at the Vitamin Shoppe) or ferrous fumerate. Julie

Get your doc to write a prescription for it. I used to take it a few years back because doc thought I was slightly anemic, and she wrote me a script for it. That's what I plan on doing this time around, too.

Hi I got a prescription from the doctor in a liquid. I take it twice a day and it does have a strong taste to it so the doc recommend that I take it with something acidy. It's not that bad so I would probably ask the doc. Good Luck CB2

thanks everyone the actual wording -- after i looked it up again is: Ferrous Sulfate 325 mg per day OR Feosol 200 mg 3 times a day OR Ferrous Gluconate 325 mg 3 times a day those are my 3 choices on what to get Rite Aid here i come i was using the wrong word and looking for the wrong thing -- too busy looking for "Iron" that i didn't look for the other stuff -- reminder to self ... be more careful!! Thanks again roberta

Roberta, Talk to Jim the nutrionist. I had the same problem. I wound up buying the 65mg. and it has 325mg. of something else. Jim said that was the right ones. But ask him to be on the safe side. I found the info that they gave out at PA hospot was a little confusing. Jeanne
