Had a problem with my pshyciatrist of 2 years. I had my eval with her back in May. I was approved for surgery for 2 months now. I have a scheduled date Oct 2. Problem is just last week the surgeon's group told me they haven't received my eval rpt from pshyc. Pshyc has no record of me having the eval!!! I recall the whole appointment. In the end she told me that I'd be a good candidate and I gave her the fax to send rpt to my surgeon. She won't see me til Sept 29!!! That the fri before my surgery. It's too close for comfort. Anyway if anyone has a recommended pshyc that takes credit card please forward their name and number on to me. I've got to try to get to see someone very fast. I'm sooo bumbed. I've been sitting here mentally working out on the oct 2 date for 2 months and now I hope I don't have to change it. Now I have to scramble. The surgeons office did say they would not do this again. They will start checking paperwork when the surgery is approved, not at the person's 2 week pre-op class. This s*cks.

i agree with jacki if you have a receipt then dig it out and sit in her office with it -- don't wait for your next appt -- this isn't an appt -- it's getting your paperwork -- scream loud!! good luck roberta

If you have the time, show up.. **unannounced**. Take a Book. Be ... relaxed. When the receptionist (at the Psych eval office) gets all flustered **but you dont have an appointment... etc etc... simply explain (with a SMILE) that you are in a crunch for time, that you have **already been seen**.. approved.. yada yada... Also, contact your insurance company? They should have a record of the billing if any insurance paid at all? Doctors, (most times anyway) are p-e-o-p-l-e too. Sometimes they froogle up.. too. But most people simply panic, and refuse to become ... what I call... **cheerfully, constructively ... assertive**. The doctor.... while deserving respect and to be treated decently...... **exists** to SERVE you... not visa versa. I use this when cir****tances conspire against me... I go to the doctors office **early**.. take a book... take any applicable forms I need a signature for... and because its THEIR mistake.... I remain cheerful... but simply WONT LEAVE without a answer that meets **MY ** needs. Now.. my sister lives in Maine, and works for a doctor/clinic. This technique of showing up and not leaving... but ***always being polite, respectful and upbeat**... while they dont LIKE it... it works about 95 percent of the time. Remember to be cheerful.... and DONT take any anger or frustration on their part seriously. You are their to be SERVED.... and if its ... inconvienent... or it makes them flustered... or upset.... ... Oh **well... it sucks to be them : ) The whole idea is to be cheerful, but that the intent is .. you will leave when they do what they should have done in the first place.. ie their job. Again... this is controversial in that some folks get all BENT at the idea of pressuring the doctors or psychiatrist..... but its just what I have done... and never failed because - I refuse to let them get me angry -I remind myself that this is necessary because of THEIR inability to tie their shoes and chew gum while forming independent speech... Good luck.. Hope it gets sorted out for you Timmy Ray : )
