Words of wisdom
Well after all the months of tests, insurance ups & downs and extreme emotions, I think I am finally at the very nervous stage. I am scheduled to have my wls on 9/21 and im a little nervous, ok alot. Any words of wisdom or shared feelings would help me alot. Thanks in advance to everyone for your help and ongoing support. I cant wait to meet all of you at the October meeting at Kimball.

I was also very nervous 2 days before my surgery. Anyone would be unusual not to be scared at this point. You have made it this far, you can do it. Just get to that OR table and the rest is much easier. I was so nervous because I hadn't had surgery before, I had 2 c-sections, but was wide awake for both, and I was nervous about the sedation. It went fine. Tell the doctor you are nervous, they may give you something to calm you down. I have heard they do that a lot.
Can't wait to meet you at Kimball in October, look for me on the "loser's bench"! Most of us there are loser's, but I am sure you will love us anyway...
Just make it to the operating room and from there on out, it's smooth sailing

Hello Charlene~
I am doing well, thanks
I am 19 days post op and feeling good, no problems from the surgery, but still extemely tired. I am getting sick of being tired so I am trying to up my food intake, I do mostly protein drinks because I feel safe with them, but I have to move forward. I need energy, I go back to work in another 2 weeks. I can't wait to get back to work, ad I know I won't be able to do it feeling this tired.
Thanks for checking in. I have lost 25 pounds

Dr. Nusbaum was my surgeon. I can safely say you are in the most capable hands imaginable. His entire staff, as well as the staff at St. Barnabas - treated me like I was gold. He is a lovely man, and truly cares about his patients.
You are going to be a tremendous success!!!

Your gonna be fine, I have nothing but good things about Dr Nusbaum. He wouldn't be doing the surgery if he wasn't sure that you could pull thru. That is why you had all the tests
I go in on the 27th.....I'll see you at the October meeting!!
I would say best of luck, but you don't need luck, your gonna be great!!!
Take care!
Just as the other's have said,, We're all scared a few days before, even more so when your name is called! But just keep in mind that you'll be a more healthier person, and happier too. It's all worth it. The only advice I can give you is when you are in the hospital... MAKE SURE YOU DRINK WHAT THEY TELL YOU TO DRINK AND WALK, WALK, WALK,WALK as much as possible. I have severe gas after my surgery, the pain from the gas was unbearable.. BUT I wasn't drinking enough water and I didn't really wal****il the next night. I had to stay an extra day in the hospital because of my gas.. If you drink all your water and walk as much as possible you'll let go of the gas.. and don't worry who is standing behind you when it happens. LOL It happens to the best of us. When you are lying in bed,, try to keep your bed in the posistion where your knees are bent and your legs are elevated. Once I figured this posistion out BOY OH BOY did my gas let go!! LOL Good Luck to you!! Dr. Bilof did my surgery, He and Dr. Nussbaum are awesome doctors!!
Keep us posted on your progress!
