Has anyone used Dr. Kollar (saddlebrook or JC)?

I am considering surgery with Dr. Chris Kollar. I went to his info. seminar and was impressed. Met with him and continued to feel comfortable. He is not listed as a doc on these boards but has performed over 850 wls. Just looking to chat with someone if they did use him. Thanks

Sorry, haven't heard of him before. Where does he do his surgery? Michelle

I never heard of him either, but I looked him up. I noticed he is not certified by the American Bariatric Board, I would def ask him about that, or at least his secretary. (just keep in mind quantity is not as good as quality) Good Luck in your decision!!!!

Never heard of him! I would rather go with someone that you've heard of or someone that is certified. Remeber this is major surgery!!! CB2

Hi, I am scheduled for surgery this Tuesday (19th) with Dr. Kollar... I know people who have used him with great results. I too was impressed with his presentation & meeting, having a surgeon that you feel comfortable was very important within my decision making process... Thank you so much for responding. I was feeling a bit nervous with all the people asking about his membership in ABS. I wish you well this week. I will be thinking of youi on Tuesday and sending you only good thoughts. When you are feeling better, I hope you post to the boards so that I can read about your experience with Dr. Kollar and WLS. Doctor Kollar did my gastric bypass almost 2 years ago. I had went for several consults and was scheduled with another doctor, then I met Dr, Kollar and knew that he was the doctor I wanted to have perfprm my surgery. There is a support group on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6p.m. in his office. Feel free to come to the meeting, then you can ask questions to the patients. Good luck. Mary

I also went to Dr Kollar. I was very impressed with him. I went to the doctors he referred me to but I can't seem to get any answers to my questions . His staff has been very rude especially the person that handles the insurance claims, Dave. I've left several messages and never got a return call. I signed up for his yahoo forum and never got an email back. I guess I'm back shopping for another doctor.

I had my surgery with Dr.Chris Kollar 17 months ago. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Kollar. He is one of the Best Doctor's that I have ever been to. He listens to your conserns and answers any questions you may have. I also find that his staff is very helpful with questions etc. I would recommend him to anyone that may be considering having WLS. Hi again, Just a follow-up to my original response: I had my surgery as scheduled on the 19th all has gone well so far... PVH was great and the staff really knew what to do and were very helpfull in getting me up, around and out of the hospital by Thursday. I had a question for Dr. Kollar late Thursday night, He quickly returned my call and settled my concerns. My family & I were greatly thankful for his attention and thoughtfullness during the process. I can concure with those who've used his talents in these prior replys... Good luck, Art
