Food list, Big stomach, no sleep...

Hello Friends~ I know I have seen someone say over and over that they have the food list of all the things we are allowed to have for each phase. Can you send it to me please......I need a change! Also--my belly looks and feels 9 months pregnant. I felt about 6 months pregnant before surgery, but it's bigger. yikes! I have lost 18 pounds, but it's not in my stomach. Another thing--I can not sleep to save my life! Good thing I took a month off from work, I could never drive a car as tired as I am. I have Ambien, but I guess with the small pouch, it wears off in about 2 hours-and I hate taking it anyway, even before surgery. It's so addictive!! One more thing--My WLS for Dummies book said to let your doctor know if you have "frothy" saliva, and I do. What does this mean, anyone know? Thanks for all of your help Michelle Brennan [email protected]

the tummy will get better, its all the gas they pump you up with to do the surgery by the lap method. i dont know about the frothy saliva though. roberta cassidy has the food list, she sent it to me but i printed it out and dont have it online anymore. im sure she will send it to you if you ask michelle. i dont know what to tell you about the sleeping though, it took me awhile but i did start to sleep better after about two weeks. now i could sleep all the time, lol. hang in there, hugzzzzzzzzzzzz jacki i had my first cup of coffee this morning, its a and p's balanced blend which is part regular and part decaf, will see how i feel later. maybe ill be bouncing off the walls, he he he.

Jacki~ The protein drink I "nursed" all day yesterday was caffeinated, and boy was I buzzing! I am going to wait until I actually am able to eat, to calm down the caffeine effect in me I was wired for sound all day yesterday, well into the early hours of this morning. I have always been super sensitive to caffeine though, but that Achiev One Mocha Java is soooo good! Do you have a fax machine? If so can you fax me that food list, if not no big deal. My fax is 732-477-3789. Thanks Jac****ep up the good recovery. Michelle Brennan

The bloating in your stomache is gas -- it will pass -- you may also want to try to use GasX if you feel you need to. Don't know what it means, but the frothy saliva too will also pass. I carried a dixie cup around with me for the first month cause I was always spitting into it! No big deal. Sleeping in a recliner and only taking the pain meds at night to help knock me out (even if I had no pain) was how I got to sleep initially. Again, this too will pass. Hang in there Michelle - every day gets better. Food that I relied on initially: cottage cheese, non fat yogurt, cheese sticks, lentil soup, sashimi, part-skim ricotta heated with some soft mixed vegetables, sugar free ice pops, sugar free puddings, egg drop soup, soft scrambled eggs. Good luck - only try one new food per day, so you will know if you have any bad reactions to it. Hugs, Nannette

I am horrible with food - stick to the same old same so no advice there. I just wanted to say that Rozerem is supposedly not addictive and though it doesn't always give me a full night it is OK.

Hi Michelle, one nice food option is the Total Greek Yogurt made by FAGE. It comes unsweetened. This is not like any yogurt I'd ever eaten. It's very creamy without that extreme tang that some unsweetened yogurts have. I would add a little fresh squeezed lemon juice and Splenda -- which thickens nicely while in the frigde. But the best part of this yogurt is the amount of PROTEIN. The 7 oz. container of 2% has 17 grams of protein! Calories aren't bad either at 130. Here is a link to the nutritional info. http://www.fageusa.com/2_yogurt_info.html I've seen it sold at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Wegmans. Malinda

Hey Malinda~ What are you doing up at 1:30am? I hope Lily is doing ok..... Thanks for the yogurt tip, I generally don't like yogurt, but I will try this one. I usually only like yogurt in the form of TCBY's sugar free, fat free frozen stuff. I love their's, but they aren't around anywhere, and the one's at the parkway rest stops, they never have the sugar free! I am going to call all of them and find me some! I am getting used to my new pouch and trying to pamper her all I can, carrying water around with me and drinking my protein drinks... I need to eat more, so the yogurt will help me with that too. Thanks for the tip girlfriend Is the shoppe still open? Maybe when it gets slower or closes down we can get together? It's been such a long time. Blair is going to 9 in February.....it's been too long! Love, Michelle
