breakfast help
hi everyone
i need breakfast help, i can barely look at food in the morning since my surgery.
anyone have any helpful thoughts. i know i need to eat, and i know i need to eat protein, but im not doing very well.
im six weeks out this wednesday, and ive lost 42 lbs, which i am thrilled about.
but now that im back to work, i know i need to get something down in the morning.
any thoughts would be appreciated.
thanks, jacki
I like Nanette's suggestion....I always have a protein shake for breakfast, as it's a no brainer and I'm not very keen on other "breakfast" foods (well, unless you count donuts/muffins/waffles and the like as breakfast foods---but I don't do those anymore!!LOL!). Sometimes I'll add 1/2 banana, or make it with Calorie Countdown instead of water. It's quick and keeps me full (I'm not that hungry in the am****il midmorning, when I can have a protein snack to look forward to.
Great job on your weightloss! Julie
Jacki,
I agree with Nanette, yogurt, cottage cheese, non-fat ricotta cheese, maybe even string cheese...hard boiled eggs, or a protein shake are good breakfast options.
I have a cookbook called Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery that has some good recipes. I think its a great book because it address each type of WLS and how each recipe can be modified and what your serving size should be depending on what point you are at...
I got it at Barnes and Noble or Borders...It costs about $20 but is a good investment....
I also hated protein drinks and had a hard time with them, but I used ISOPURE, it is a fruit punch, not milky....I didn't love it, but I could get it down, the colder the better...I got that at Shoprite in the Vitamin aisle and I have seen it at GNC and Walgreens. Walgreens had the best price.....
Good Luck,
Kelly
