Just wanted you all to know that I spoke with Michelle Brennan this evening around 5:30PM. She called to tell me her surgery went great this morning. Her surgeon said it was TEXTBOOK, her liver looked great, everything went great. She is a little groggy from the pain meds and she got a little dizzy when she got up to walk around so she is grounded for the moment, but she wanted you all to know she is doing fine. Her surgeon feels she should be going home on Saturday. Donna C.

Thanks for all of your responses. Barbara- I was able to keep my nail polish on! I was shocked and amazed, but it's still on! Thank goodness, 'cause I didn't have the strength to re do it at the hospital. My surgery went very well... as Donna said, TEXTBOOK and Dr. Trivedi thanked me for doing the liquid diet on my own for the week before surgery, my liver was perfect and so was the gall bladder. My only problem seems to be constipation. Any suggestions? Glycerin suppositories, something by mouth? Any suggestions safe to WLS patients are welcomed. I am almost in pain now from this, and the hours of sitting on the pot and pushing are getting tiring too! Love to all.... see you soon at the Lakewood meeting. Michelle Brennan

Hello Friends~ I did call the doctor and he called me back about the constipation. I wasn't constipated he says, I was impacted, gross I know.... but he told me to use the suppositories, and they worked like a charm. I am off to get some rest, been up since 6am... feels like forever. Love, michelle

Hi Michelle, Oh good thing you called the doc, I was gonna suggest stool softner-i did that after my daughter was born-laxatives can be too violent. Impacted..ugh i know the feeling. But if you were doing liquids, does he know why you got impacted??? See I knew it about the nail polish...the doc was prob just covering all areas when he said to take it off. Hospitals are much better about it since they changed to the finger cuffs. Okay here is my big question...lol...could you wear your bra home from the hospital?? I am only a "B" ha ha no--since I gained the weight I am a "c" --(I am in denial..lol) i hate it can't wait to go back to a "B" ....anyway still hate going around in public without a bra. I was told I wouldn't be able to wear one. Yes, I will def be at the Lakewood meeting...I will need to go, I have surgery the following thursday...I will need the support because I have a feeling I'll be bouncing off the walls by then....ha ha. Take care! Barb

Barb: I wore a bra home from surgery but a couple weeks later, it irritated one incision so I had to find a different style to wear for awhile. Donna

Hi Donna, I'm such a dork...I was only worried about the drive home---as if anyone is gonna see me anyway. LOL. I didn't want anyone to see the fat chic without makeup and no bra...ewww. One of my weird things I guess...just like I won't heels at this weight....can anyone say hooves? (If I had a professional job and wardrobe, I am sure I'd think differently) LOL. Hmm...are the incisions really that high up? Oh well I am gonna need a new bra anyway..I can change styles. Thanks for the info! Barb

Barb: One incision is higher up than the others. For me, it was within my bra line. Again for me it was double edged sword, if I didn't wear one that held the bust up, being fat, I would sweat and that was bad for the incision, if I wore the bra it rubbed on the incision which was good either. I had to go back to work so I had to wear a bra so I padded the incision site with gauze and tape so I could get through the day. I did whatever I had to - to make it work. Donna
