Has anyone who has had asthma not had to do a sleep study test? I was sent for a PFT but the pulmonologist found it strange that I wasn't sent for a sleep study. Thanks for any input. I don't have a date yet but I'm going through the pre op testings.

Hi, I was sent to a pulmonooligst for clearence for surgery due to asthma, he looked at the tests which had been done and asked a bunch of questions. Then said he didnt' feel I need a sleep test. I am hoping it doesn't hold up my suregery which is scheduled for sept 13th. Sandy

I hope for your sake it doesn't neither. I've yet to get a date I go back on Sept. 14 and assume I will get a date on that day, however after further review they are sending me for a sleep study so this may delay my process. Good luck and God Bless you on your day of surgery. Thanks for your response

Which Pulm Doc did you see?? If you don't need a sleep test, then it won't hold up your surgery. My surgery was held up because of the pulm doc's nurse (nurse-zilla as I now refer to her) I am going thru Onopnchenko too!! I am scheduled for 9/27!

I can't remember his name but can find it if you would like, he was over in Philadelphia. But my asthma has been under control for some time now and I really don't have a problem sleeping.
