Reminder - Friday August 25 9pm

Just a reminder that Friday, August 25 at 9pm is the timing for the get together I am organizing to hear Jody Joseph and the Average Joes at The Forked River House Restaurant in Forked River, NJ. My earlier e-mail on this topic was: Oh my god - for those of you that know me, know that I absolutely love, love, love, a NJ band called "Jody Joseph and the Average Joes." Jody also tours on the East Coast with Janis Joplin's old band, BIG BROTHER AND THE HOLDING COMPANY. I just found out that she and "the Joes" are finally playing at a venue in my neck of the woods, so I don't have to travel up North to see them (but still would). Therefore, I want to get a gang of people together to go see them and get them to come back to our area on a regular basis. In any case, who's going to join me for some dinner and / or dancing that night? Let me know.

hi Nannette, I had sort-of plans with a friend who lives in Staten Island to see (would you believe?) a Janis Joplin Tribute band called Kosmic Blues in Staten Island on Friday night. However, I really would like to join you and others who have had similar experiences in life with weight issues (feel more comfortable around them). Btw, my friend also had WLS (DS) more than 3 yrs ago and lost over 200 lbs!!! She, however, does not dance. I, on the other hand, LOVE LOVE LOVE to dance!!! Please tell me directions (from Central NJ, around exit 120 on the GSP or exit 10 on the NJTPK) to where it is, how late the group may be there and/or the bands, how late they serve dinner and what, if any, the cover charge is. Nannette~ How were they? I was actually called out of town Tuesday night and didn't get home until late last night. I was in Queens NY all week, doing pre employment drug and alcohol testing for a huge hiring event for the Federal Air Marshals. I missed the concert, but hopefully helped to make our skies a little safer Who went from the group? Hope it was excellent! My surgery is this Thursday already, I will try and post from the hospital, if they have a computer somewhere. I called Hackensack to see if they had "wi fi" connections in the patient rooms on bariatrics, and they will have it all connected by MID SEPTEMBER, so that's good for people going after then, they can surf right from their beds If I can't post, I will have my daughter post for me, just to let you all know that I am ok. Jody was awesome -- Laura, Jen, and Joyce from OCWLS and some of my other friends showed up to support me in my support of Jody, and we had a good time.
